In memoriam: David Blake Hobbs
David Blake Hobbs

A remembrance by Rick Haggard

Dave served as President of the Indianapolis Landscape Association in 1994 and 1995. I will miss Dave not only as a colleague, but as a friend as well. Many are not aware of this, but I had thought about leaving Hobbs in 1993, to possible other “greener pastures” as so many others do nowadays. Dave took time after work to meet with me and came into the office. I will never forget the extremely brief, but very thought-provoking chat we had. In the very few words he said, it only took a moment to reflect on what opportunities where available to me. His last words were something to the effect of “you can do what you feel is best for you, money is not everything, but the opportunities before you will define who you are and will make you proud”. WOW!! I guess now many of you know how the talk turned out, even better than I would or could have dreamed or imagined.

With condolences and prayers to his beautiful wife Sally and two beautiful daughters, Valerie and Shanna.
