Message from Estes Material Sales announcing Garry Estes passing…
With heavy hearts….
We are contacting you today with heavy hearts as we deliver the very sad news as our founder, Garry Estes, passed away unexpectedly on 4/20/20. Please be thinking of his wife Mary Lou and all us through these most difficult times.
Garry appreciated all of your support and friendship over the last 40 years. He loved coming into work. He worked up until the Saturday before he passed away, and was humbled and so proud to be apart of the biggest Saturday of sales we have ever had. He lived for his chats with all of you as you stopped in, and loved the socialization and interaction the “rock” business gave him. His health had been compromised for quite some time, whereas he and his wife had already put into action the predecessors for the business to continue. In the spirit of Garry, we will continue to “ROCK ON” at Estes Material Sales, Inc. with business as usual. You will not notice any change in your service, but we are sure you will miss his conversations and jokes as you stop or call in. Thank you all for your support over the years, you will never know just how much it meant to him.
Garry Estes Memorial Scholarship Fund
Due to Covid-19 and these very difficult times, we are not able to have a traditional service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when gatherings are permitted.
The Garry Estes Memorial Scholarship Fund has been created in lieu of a traditional service to pay tribute to his life and love of helping others. The scholarship will be given to a graduate for the 2020- 2021 school year.
If you wish to contribute to the memorial, contributions may be donated with checks made out to Estes Materials, Garry Estes Memorial with Scholarship Fund on the memo line. Mailing: PO Box 161, Hope, IN 47246. The fund is held at Jackson County Bank.
