It is a very sad start to the New Year with the passing of Lynda Pealer, one of the founders of Millcreek Gardens, located in Ostrander, Ohio.
Lynda Pealer, who passed away December 24, 2018 began Millcreek Gardens in February of 1978 wiith her husband George. Millcreek grew from Lynda and George’s vision and desire to provide high quality plants to the Ohio Valley Region. Lynda in particular had a passion for herbs; being a wonderful cook she loved to use them in her kitchen. Wanting others to have the same opportunities, Lynda developed Millcreek into a pioneer in the industry as one of the first nurseries in our region to provide herbs on a wholesale basis. Lynda was our herb grower for many years and our company’s success today is a direct reflection of her influence, expertise, and vision.
As Millcreek grew and our staff expanded, Lynda transitioned to management responsibilities in the sales and business offices. Though she retired in 2012, she remained involved in plant selection and compiling our herb offerings from year to year. She also enjoyed working each Fall on the cover design for the Millcreek Catalog.
